Salmon Fishing in the Margaree River, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, circa 1920, by Frank Vincent Dumond (American 1865-1951). The accomplished artist and leader of the Impressionist and Tonalist enclave in Old Lyme, Connecticut, Frank DuMond studied at academies in New York and Paris. In the last three decades of his life, DuMond spent nearly every summer in the Margaree River Valley on Cape Breton. An accomplished fly fisherman, he developed a great love for this region and frequently depicted it in his paintings and sketches.
